On Wednesday March 25th, we went to an organic community garden. They had many projects set up for us that day including: clearing vines from fences, uprooting banana trees, moving bricks, leveling the ground, and digging trenches. The plan for this garden was to make raised beds to utilize space and not have to deal with as many weeds. The two women who were in charge explained how many people helping with the garden were first timers, while others had been gardening for years. With all the food raised, they will be distributing among people who help based on a time log. I enjoyed spending time with my group that day and getting to know them better.
