Work: Day 1

Today my group went to the Imaculate Conceptions church in the Bronx and helped serve food to the homeless. I would say it was a soup kitchen, but it really wasn’t. We handed their plates out to them and out made it seem just a little more homely. The women who worked and made the food were so nice yet very strict, making sure everyone only got one plate of food. It got a little stressful when people wanted to have more than onedodo we gave them another to quiet them down.

One thing that I learned today was that most of the people who visit soup kitchens are men, because women and children get support services through the government. I don’t think that’s fair though. Because everyone is equal, right?
