MACURH 2016 Regional Leadership Conference - Nov. 4th - 6th

Planting the Seed

The MACURH 2016 Conference Team is excited to announce the theme of the upcoming regional conference: Planting the Seed for Success. We are continuing to work hard day and night to eat, sleep, and breathe MACURH in order to provide the best conference experience for all in attendance!

Two central ideas you will continuously notice about MACURH 2016 are education and of course, trees. Education is one of the strongholds that Northwest holds near and dear as it is precisely what our university was founded on. Education is our Big Logoseed that was planted and started this all. The school of education at Northwest focuses on developing the best teachers for our future. Because, without teachers who are equipped to handle each and every child, our future generations will not be able to continue this growth and development for a better future.

In order to accomplish this, Northwest has their very own Horace Mann Laboratory Elementary School. Currently there is a preschool and 1st thru 5th grade classrooms with a Kindergarten class being added in fall of 2016. This elementary school serves as learning environments for their students and for Northwest’s education majors. As an education major, you have the pleasure to observe as well as plan and teach lesson plans in these classrooms with real children where real learning and discovery is always taking place. Horace Mann provides this unique experience where you can discover first hand which grade you want to teach, how you want to design your future classroom, how you should interact withstuff your students, and so much more. This experience at Northwest is even more unique because of the love that these children have for us college students when we become a part of their classroom and develop meaningful relationships with them. Horace Mann is proof of the focus that Northwest has on education, safety, inclusivity, growth, and support.

Here at Northwest Missouri State University we have a saying: Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat!  Around our town and around our campus, you cannot escape this phrase that has become such a huge part of our atmosphere. This November, we would like to invite you to come and be a part of our Bearcat family here at NWMSU while we Plant the Seed for Success together.
