Fall Professional Development Series: Flexible Learning!

Flex small

We are proud of the flexibility and fortitude faculty have shown as we adjust to changes in our learning environments to ensure students can continue their education. The Learning & Teaching Center is excited to bring more opportunities for professional development this fall!

We are continuing our Learning & Teaching Academy with a cohort of faculty who will be working on refreshing a course site with help from several professional guests. We also will continue our training on Outcomes, VidGrid, and Zoom. Integrating the Portfolium tool into your course is a valuable resource for our students and we have another training opportunity for you early in the semester so be sure to register if you want to learn more about Portfolium.

New Quizzes is an option that you can activate in your course and it has additional features available. Be sure to register and attend one of the sessions to learn about how to activate New Quizzes and the additional features. One enhancement, for example is when the LockDown Browser is enabled for New Quizzes, the student workflow has been simplified — LockDown browser will automatically launch when the exam begins. When using the current Classic Quiz, it is a two-step process where students need to open the LockDown Browser before beginning the exam.

You will see a few offerings in the series to support Flexible Learning in our campus, online, and blended environments. Engaging students in activities using digital tools like Padlet and online games will be two of our sessions in addition to a session about how to modify classroom activities you can move to online delivery.
