Saving Faculty Time: Grade book Pass-through to Banner

Coming fall 2017, faculty will be able to use a new feature developed by the Learning & Teaching Center’s Professional Learning Studio student employment team.   This new feature is the Grade book Pass-through to Banner.  Faculty will be able to pass-through 4, 5, and 11 week grades along with mid-term grades without entering Banner.

Grade book Pass-through menuThe Grade book Pass-through will be a pilot test available to all faculty fall 2017.  The feature will be located in Northwest Online on the left-hand course navigation bar as a link.  In order for this feature to work, faculty must be using the Northwest Online grade book tool to track grades, and have a grading scheme enabled.

The faculty teaching the course must be the faculty member listed as the instructor for the course site in Banner.  Basically, faculty will click on the Grade book Pass-through link in the left-hand course navigation bar.  This link takes faculty to a page which authenticates the faculty as the instructor teaching the course.  After this process, the feature provides faculty with a screen to double-check grade information is correct.  A submit button is then clicked on to pass the letter grades through to Banner.
