The Learning and Teaching Center, Powered by CITE has been working on developing an attendance tracking process over the past 3 years. With a year of beta testing behind us, we are now able to offer this ATS – Attendance Tracking Service to faculty in two processes.
- Classrooms with ATS Kiosks: The kiosk are available in 7 rooms on campus only. Faculty teaching in those rooms have the option of using the service with the kiosk with a magnetic card reader for students to swipe the Student ID cards to register for attendance. (We are looking towards kiosks being installed in other rooms.)
- Classrooms without kiosk – Manual Attendance is available. Basically the instructor can take attendance anyway that works best for them, be it a sign-in sheet or a seating chart, or even roll call. After class faculty can transfer the attendance data for the day to the ATS management Website.
Used either through kiosk collection or by manually entering the data, the attendance data will be automatically pushed to the course site gradebook where students will automatically see the attendance average for the course on their student success dashboard.
If you want to use either process for the spring 2016 trimester please let the LTC Office know the following information by December 18.
- Course number – including section
- CRN number for corresponding course.
This information is needed to allow us time to get the service set up for requested courses before the first day of class on January 11, 2016.
