Only three weeks!

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is looking forward to Christmas now! So over Thanksgiving break I took a plunge and went shopping on Black Friday with many determined and crazy shoppers, to say the least. At the outlet mall, Zona Rosa, in Kansas City they were handing out gift cards to the first one thousand people in line! A friend of mine and I got to Zona at 9:00 p.m. and were just in time to be the last twenty people to receive gift cards! We waited in line for a little over three hours to receive them, but the extra twenty-five and thirty dollars was worth it for us! Honestly though it was fun! We had a blanket and snacked on pretzel bites. We were surrounding a huge Christmas tree and the Christmas feeling was definitely all around us! Once we had received our gift cards we shopped until we couldn’t shop anymore, mostly because we didn’t have any more money to spend!

My family and I on Thanksgiving day!

There are only three weeks left until the semester is over and most of all until Christmas break! That means that we only have two full weeks until finals week, the week that every student dreads! Well here are some tips for preparing for finals:

  1. Do not procrastinate!
  2. While studying only focus on one subject at a time
  3. Get together with a group and study
  4. Try not to stress out!

I’m really excited for Christmas break because as soon as I’m done taking finals I’m going to Colorado! I have family in Colorado and I absolutely love the mountains! Well this year my family is getting a condo in the mountains and we are going to spend our time skiing and enjoying each other’s company! But honestly Christmas isn’t about receiving presents or going on trips, it’s about being with family and celebrating the importance of Christmas day!

Now if you haven’t heard, the Bearcat Football team has made it to the third game in the Playoffs! This is huge and our Bearcats need all the support they can get! They play Pitt State in Pittsburgh this Saturday! If you have kept up with the football team you know that Pitt State beat us this year in the last thirty seconds with a field goal! That was the first time Pitt State has beat Northwest in five years! If you are a supporter be praying for our boys all week and especially on Saturday! Oh and don’t forget to wear your green!

I hope that everybody has a great week! Remember to live life to the fullest and be thankful for what you have!
