PERT position to be eliminated after 2011-2012 school year

Due to financial reasons and department restructuring, the PERT position will no longer exist after this year. Do not fear, though– technical support will still be available through other sources on campus.

The B.D. Owens library will provide help through Technology Support Assistants (TSAs), conveniently available through Client Computing. TSAs are trained to assist with computer problems and will make time to provide support on an individual basis. The library will also continue to employ lab consultants who are stationed in the computer labs and available to assist with any academic question related to technology.

As always, the Help Desk will be open to assist with university-provided laptop computers. The Help Desk is located in the Electronic Campus Support Center (ECSC) or Rickman Building where laptops are picked up at the start of the year and returned at the end of the year. The Help Desk can be contacted at 660-562-1634 from 8am-10pm Monday – Thursday, 8am-5pm on Fridays, 11am – 4:45pm on Saturdays, and 1pm-10pm on Sundays.  For more information on Client Computing or Northwest technology as a whole check out the official website for Client Computing.

The PERTs have sincerely enjoyed providing support to thousands of students over the past few years and will continue to aid students for the remainder of the 2011-2012 academic year. Look here if you are trying to get in touch with a PERT.
